Hello out there.....
Welcome to my brand new blog! :)
The reason is two fold:
1) I have several friends who have blogs and I read them faithfully. Recently, not only did a friend give me a "shout out" on his blog, but I have been asked to guest write as well. In trying to put together one piece for his blog (I am a journalist by education and training), I have come up with several sidebars and more stories of things that upset me, perplex me, and just plain PISS ME OFF! The more I gather notes for this guest spot, the more things I find I need to get off my chest, but I do not want to write a novel on my friend's blog.
Which brings me the 2) I have started this blog to vent frustrations and musings about life and such, much like I used to write in my journal when I was in college. That activity gave me HUGE stress relief. Yet, because of my jobs as an educator and a single mom, I find little time to curl up and write by hand. But I still need to vent! Probably more than ever now. I realized how much I miss being able write down my thoughts and questons about current culture and trends, issues, etc. I am actually a frustrated columnist in dire need of a fix.
Therefore, I have combined my need and want to get things off my chest with the time I already spend at my computer. As an added bonus, I now have a great reason to procrastinate when doing work.
If you are wondering about my blog's name, here is an explanation. I needed one that was not taken so I turned to what I am (personality and career wise) and my heritage to find a name that was available. "Scribneoir" is Gaelic/Celtic for writer - pretty easy to figure out why I used that word (and I am Irish). "Savoir faire" is French for adaptability; knowing what to do in any situation - I am an adaptable person (and French). Together, the mish-mosh means I am a writer who will and can write about almost anything. I am by nature a people watcher, hanging back and taking in little nuances of body language, facial expression, etc. whether in person, photographs, and/or video. This, my friends, will be interesting and fun.....
I look forward to posting here and learning more about the blog world. I welcome all opnions and comments.
Peace
